Petunia's double bloom

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Seeds are moving along well. I transplanted some of the petunia's along with the Coreopsis. I am starting to see germination of another Petunia variety starting. I think later in the week I will pot up the geraniums and thin out and pot up the Pansies. Still looking for a smaller type flower to go along my sidewalk. I found a Dahlia variety that grows to 8-10". I need to start ordering my veggies. Will try to post some pics.

UPDATE

Well the Impatiens haves sprouted along with Snapdragons and Rudbeckia. I will need to start doing some transplanting this weekend. My Ivy Geraniums have began popping up so that was nice to see. Still have many seeds to sow. I just need to have patience. I don't need marigolds blooming in March. I think I have enough seeds but I know if go to the store and see a seed rack I will probably put some in the cart and take home. I have a weakness.

happy planting everyone!!!!

Well in 2 days I have geraniums sprouting. 36 of 40 seeds up. Not bad

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Well .... more seeds have been planted and must report I do have Petunia's up and growing. Pansies are starting to show along with coreopsis(annual). I just started Geraniums yesterday along with Rudbeckia. Cascading Vinca and Impatien's starting to show. My Germination room is perfect for starting my seeds. A fairly constanst temperature of 72 makes for fast germination.

I know I didn't post much after spring arrived but has anyone visited my Blog in 2010.

well it's 01/01/10 and I am starting seeds this morning. I sowed Petunia's, Pansies and
Coreopsis (1st time). Last year I had numerous seeds already started waited this year. I am disappointed that I ordered Geranium seeds from a national seed company but will not have them till mid or late January. This company needs to get their web site in order so when you order merchandise it will tell you if the SKU's are available. Anyway I do have more seeds coming in the next few days so I will be busy for the spring planting.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Well I sat down and made a spreadsheet of the seeds ordered and have 940 seeds to plant. I hope to start my Geraniums and Begonia's Xmas weekend. Greenhouse is empty but have been spending time winterizing so I can place flowers out there in February.

Happy Holidays!!!!!

well it feels like summer after the last 2 days. I order some seeds today so I'm excited

Friday, December 4, 2009

well its been a long time since blogging but the growing season is over. 24 degrees this morning .
I am now looking for seeds for the new year. The past season was both successful but also a learning experience. The flowers all did well but the veggie garden had its moment. We had a hot June and the tomatoes lost their blooms. The Roma's did well but the larger varieties did not fare well. I waited to long to transplant the Broccoli and they bolted. I need more room for peas if I choose to grow then again. Peppers were plentiful along with the cucumbers and beans. I learned from this past season and anticipate a better garden in 2010

Sunday, March 1, 2009

Well 19 days till spring. yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today is sunny but cold and the heater inside the Greenhouse has been busy the last couple days. I'm hoping this is it for cold weather(20 degrees this morning) and we can get started working the flower/veggie beds soon. I'm pretty well done with seed starting just spending time now potting up plants. Next week we fast forward the clocks and hour so theat will make people feel better with extra daylight.

Have a good week
